Frame #002 Analysis: Your posture looks great as you plant. We have talked a few times on the position of your plant foot. I don’t mind novice kickers planting a bit short. At your level, you have to work hard to plant deeper. A deeper plant will allow you to drive the ball. Your strength has been improving steadily. Often however, your strength simply forces you to hit a higher ball. We want a ball that flies with purpose. You’ll need to plant deeper to drive the ball with accuracy. In this frame, it looks like you are about to plant a bit short. You have a slight tendency to hit the ball left. Your ‘makes’ most often go left of center. I think you will see a significant benefit from the deeper plant. Your technique is good enough that I believe you will not sacrifice the ability to get the ball up quick enough with the deeper plant. I think that it is clear in the still of EJ Cochrane how much deeper his plant is than yours. That is what gives him the ability to drive the ball. We want your ball to fly with the purpose of a dart. You never want a kick to float. |
